Working in Partnership
COLLABORATIONS
We love collaborating because that’s what community is all about. You have something to say, and we want to support you with a space to voice it.
Whether we signpost you to our friends at In2Beats Radio, or The Place, Bedford or other local businesses, we love the amazing people fighting the good fight to make a positive impact.
We're thrilled to already have the following friendships:
Bedford Creative Arts and POP Bedford
In Summer Bedford Creative Arts and POP Bedford launched an initiative for local artists to brighten the disused shop fronts in the town, and hold community workshops at the POP headquarters on Silver Street. Local Estate agents Kirby Diamond have come on board, along with a number of local businesses to offer their shop front as a gallery. We are thrilled to be part of this vibrant plan.
With the all important acoustic wall in place for our studio, we’ve turned over the space in front of it to Elaine Midgely (BCA), Talia Giles (POP Bedford) and their artists, and will be celebrating local arts here on our site, and in our shop front.
To showcase your work in our studio gallery front, please email studio@wellbeingmedia.org or visit https://bedfordcreativearts.org.uk
ARTIST CURRENTLY IN RESIDENCE
Karen Mangold @karenmangold.art
Karen is an experienced artist and has been painting for around 25 years. She still lives in the same rural Bedfordshire village which she was born in, close to local farms and fields with most of her subject matter inspired by these. With a love of colour and large expressive brush marks, Karen likes to capture the energy and memory of beautiful moments.
Over the years she has worked in many mediums: watercolours, acrylic inks and pastels but has mainly spent the last 5 years painting with acrylic on canvas, enjoying working on big pieces in an expressive impressionistic style. Karen also enjoys some mixed media/collage art, and sometimes combines the two. Whether it be stormy skies, to hares jumping, or sheep just grazing on a hot summer’s day. A member of Herts Visual Arts and a qualified tutor offering private tuition and workshops locally, Karen also takes commissions.
Stop by to view the exhibition which will be in place for at least six weeks and see the huge, expressive brushstrokes for yourself.
POP ART is led by @bedfordcreativearts_ in partnership with producer and curator Talia Giles at Pride Of Place Bedford. It has been made possible thanks to funding from the @bedfordboroughcouncil Town Centre Priority Fund.
Charity partnerships
We are pleased to support our community where we can, especially when our values align. We have always believed in providing a platform to give people voice, and the confidence to use it.
As such, our CHARITY PARTNER is CLICK ARTS FOUNDATION who promotes and advocates for the many confidence building and inclusivity benefits of the performing and creative arts; and we also work closely with THE PLACE, Bedford, a community theatre venue - the heart of Bedford, Speak Up Talk Radio in Ohio who support podcasters and authors as well as encouraging patients to "speak up" about their hospital experiences, and The Lewis Foundation who provide care packages to adults with a cancer diagnosis, and advocating for positive change in cancer treatment, diagnosis and care.
